So that was Conference...

So Conference 2008 has been and gone. I'm absolutely exhausted, still. Hustings on Friday night was terrifying, but I got through it. On Saturday we had a visit from Bill Rammell, Minister for Lifelong Learning or some such title that doesn't actually mean anything. He gave an interesting speech, accused the O U of lying over their figures, then answered some questions. Well, when I say he answered some questions, he did, just not the questions that were asked. Ho-hum. As for the business of Conference, the motion to release E C papers as default was carried, much to my surprise. It was close though, only 13 votes in it. In other news, the motions to review FirstClass were carried, the motions to disband the D S G and to create a V P Disabilities were defeated. Oh yes, and I was elected Deputy President :-))

Elections

The election period is amongst us, and I have to answer 4 questions in the 'virtual hustings'. Thing is, I'd forgotten all about it till Laura reminded me the deadline was tomorrow. D'oh! Guess what I'll be doing this evening....

So...the first post

My name is Rita and I am on the Executive Committee (E C) of the Open University Students Association (O U S A). I am currently holding the post of Vice President Communications, which is an officer post. You can find out more about O U S A here, and more about the E C here.

The O U S A annual Conference is almost upon us, and I am hoping to be elected as Deputy President in the election.

This blog will document my work and the goings on in O U S A, and on the forum system, called FirstClass (F C)
